My love for travel was ignited in 2018 during my first overseas journey to Europe. After my divorce, I began reflecting on how much of my life had been dedicated to others—as a young wife and a young mother—and how little time I had spent exploring the world for myself. Just before my 40th birthday, I had a powerful realization: life is precious, time is fleeting, and the memories created through travel are among our most valuable treasures.
As an educator, I’m blessed with seasonal breaks, which allowed me to begin traveling intentionally during those moments of rest. With each journey, my perspective expanded, my confidence grew, and I was reminded again and again of how breathtakingly beautiful the world truly is. Travel became more than an escape—it became a form of self-discovery, healing, and joy.
Bali holds a particularly special place in my heart. It is a land of beauty, spirituality, and restoration. Derived from the Sanskrit word valī, meaning offering or sacrifice, Bali invites a deeper spiritual awakening the moment you arrive. Being there revealed the internal work I needed to do and reminded me of the power of stillness, intention, and grace. The warmth, humility, and kindness of the Balinese people left a lasting impression on me—their hospitality is unmatched, and their culture is rich with history, tradition, and soul.
